Jack A. Hearn opened his land surveying office in Athens, Texas in 1966. After his first day on the job in 1974, Mark Ferrell told Mr. Hearn that he wanted to buy this business. Upon Jack’s retirement in 1986, Mark got the chance, opening the first office under the name of Hearn Surveying in Corsicana, Texas, followed soon thereafter with offices in Gun Barrel City, Athens and eventually Palestine. Overtime it became more efficient to base operations out of one office, and Athens, Texas remains the home and hub of Hearn Surveying Associates. Many of the employees of HSA have been associated with the company for over 30 years and have continued to provide excellence in service through each iteration of this family owned and managed business.
